Cinema Roundup: 7 November 2008

Monkey is still missing (presumed insane) out in the wilderness, so it is once again down to me to try and distill the South African cinema landscape into bite sized portions. I am going to try and streamline things a little more. I am also going to write a lot less in these previews, since Uncle Paul once pointed out, it is of little use to anybody (and less is more translates to I am really lazy!.)

So what do we have in store for us this Friday?

  • Body of Lies
  • Disaster Movie

Talk about a really slow week! Well, let’s try and make sense of it all!

Walrus Comments:

So there you have it folks. Body of Lies looks promising, while Disaster Movie looks like just that: a disaster. I wonder why they even bother churning them out. I guess people still pay to go and see them. It seems like it is some sick game. Hollywood makes worse and worse crap in an effort to see how many people still go and watch. The audience just goes to see how bad and how low the producers could possibly stoop. Sort of like watching an accident. You want to look away, but are compelled to watch.

Disaster Movie

The sad thing is that as of writing this pile of crap has already made over $30,000,000 at the box office.

Have a good one folks!

I’m not entirely sure if I will be up for Body of Lies. It looks to be another one of those hype films which really don’t do much to stimulate that much thought. Then again I could be totally wrong.

Pretty much a boring week in my opinion. Nice and punctually written though. Thanks Walrus.

I am waiting for “Walrus Movie”..
